Why We Call it the "DS9/NEM Cadet Jumpsuit"

We call this the "DS9/NEM cadet jumpsuit" because, well, it was the jumpsuit worn by cadets during the DS9/NEM uniform era; this isn't rocket science, haha!

However, we do specifically refer to this as the "cadet jumpsuit" to properly distinguish it from the "duty jumpsuit" - that is, what Starfleet personnel of the era typically wore while on duty (excluding captains and admirals).

We'll thoroughly cover everything you need to know to make your own DS9/NEM cadet jumpsuit, but we do recommend that you read through (or at least skim through) our DS9/NEM duty jumpsuit analysis to familiarize yourself with it, as the two garments are quite similar and the latter was used much more extensively over the years.

Lastly, this jumpsuit was only ever seen in the Deep Space Nine episodes "Valiant" and "Field of Fire" (the latter of which was merely a photo of some past cadets), so we won't be citing every example's episode season/title like we normally do since, well, the examples will all be from the same episode (DS9, 6x22 "Valiant").

Now, onto an analysis of the garment itself!
