Analysis, part 12 - Cargo Pockets

Lastly, the cargo pockets, at first glance, seem to be more or less the same as those on the late TNG and VOY cadet jumpsuits, but there was (at least?) one major difference!

On the VOY cadet jumpsuits (and presumably the late TNG cadet jumpsuits), the flap was not a real closure; it was sewn onto the pocket bag itself, and the pocket opened above it.

In other words, the pocket was accessed from the top, and, if you stuck your hand in it, the flap would pull away from the body with the pocket bag.

However, the DS9/NEM cadet jumpsuit pocket flaps were "real" (that is, functioning) flaps that closed the pocket at the top.

Note the topstitching around the pocket flap and pocket bag.
