Inherited Characteristics from the VOY Cadet Jumpsuit

The DS9/NEM cadet jumpsuit was a unique garment, being a stylistic fusion of both its predecessor, the VOY cadet jumpsuit, and its contemporary counterpart, the DS9/NEM duty jumpsuit, so we'll begin with the construction elements the DS9/NEM cadet jumpsuits had in common with the others.

First, though, we find it worth noting that the VOY cadet jumpsuit appeared to be more or less the same as the late TNG cadet jumpsuit with a gray body instead of a black one.

Observe that both had the TNG-style mandarin collar, division-color yoke, belt, and cargo pockets on each thigh.

The jumpsuit body color change was probably made to more easily differentiate the VOY cadet jumpsuit from the VOY duty jumpsuit, which also had a black body an division-color yoke.

The DS9/NEM cadet jumpsuit inherited many of its traits from the aforementioned VOY cadet jumpsuit.

There was, of course, the gray jumpsuit body and the division-colored yoke:

Both jumpsuits also had wraparound belts and cargo pockets on the thighs.
